For the purposes of providing cost calculations, we assume that:
Unless you tell us the number of words, the specification has an average of 300 words per text page (this only affects the estimate for countries where translation is required).
All international search and examination reports (i.e. the ISR and IPRP) were prepared by the same patent office (this potentially affects the government fees for Europe).
The specification has no more than three independent claims (this affects the government fees for USA and India).
The PCT application claims priority from no more than one priority document (this affects the government fees in some countries).
Renewal fees are not payable at or immediately after national stage entry (this can affect Canadian and European government fees in some circumstances).
Your application does not include sequence listings (if your application includes sequence listings, a US$300 surcharge is payable in the USA and extra translation charges may apply in other countries).
The details on the front page of the published specification are correct.
You will not amend your claims when entering the national stage in countries other than USA, India and Europe. If you do, additional charges may apply.
You will sign any required power of attorney documents and forward them to our agents before the relevant national due dates. Late fees may apply for late submission of documents.
You will pay our invoices at least three weeks before the 30 month due date. Otherwise, late fees may apply.

inovia charges a small foreign exchange fee on top of the daily exchange rate when collecting the European and Eurasian government fees in US dollars. As the European and Eurasian government fees are typically several thousand dollars, we need to charge this fee to compensate for our currency conversion costs and to help defray exchange rate fluctuations between the date we issue our invoice and the date we pay the European and Eurasian government fees.
Due to the high levels of government fees, foreign attorney fees and translation fees that we incur on your behalf, inovia has an up-front payment policy. Reduced credit risk and better cash flow contribute to our ability to offer such competitive pricing. For this reason we need to receive your funds in advance before we will instruct our agents to file your case.
